Position yourself differently
If we decide to take on the role of a servant, we are better able to serve others. Not taking on the role of a servant might seem obvious, but it has the potential to lead to more harm than good. Jesus took on the role of a servant countless times during his life. Christ continually humbled himself for others and switched places with lowly people, beginning with washing his disciples' feet to his decision to come to earth as a human and live as one of us.
In the eyes of God, everyone in the room that we serve is just as important as us. We can elevate the importance of each person we interact with when we position ourselves in this manner, leaving behind our agendas. If we change our position to reflect the example of Jesus, we end up doing a lot more to dignify those we serve.
